Now here is one for all of the “fans” of overseas outsourcing. What a great country we live in today. It seems like America now produces close to nothing domestically anymore. Instead we get our “stuff” made dirt cheap overseas.

But that’s good right? I mean it is good for business, good for the economy and good for the consumers right? Well, that might be true if you like high trade deficits, lack of quality control and fewer manufacturing jobs at home. Seems to me like it is really only good for big business.

Anyway… :) It seems as though the last lead toy recall worked just fine. The old bait and switch perhaps? If you returned your kid’s Thomas & Friends toy to RC2 you and your kid were probably pleasantly surprised when you received an official apology along with a “bonus gift” (new toy) for your child!

Well, hopefully you didn’t give that toy your child as according to an email sent out to customers, the “bonus gifts” may also have been contaminated with lead…

Unfortunately, the discovery that certain Toad vehicles could be potentially unsafe was made in August, after Toads had been sent as bonus gifts to some families. Many of the Toad bonus gifts are safe, however some may not be. If you received a Toad vehicle as a bonus gift from us, please check its underside for the tracking code 1656OW00 to determine if it is one of the recalled toys.
