I use Outlook 2003 for my emails. It is constantly open and I love getting those little alerts and being able to see what email has just come in without interrupting my work. One thing that has always bugged me is that Outlook 2003 and below (including Express) does not have support for RSS Feeds. Wouldn’t it be nice to get all of those RSS notification directly in Outlook?

I also do not use any kind of RSS Reader. I use FireFox and use their Live Bookmarks feature. This is ‘OK’ I guess, but I hate that I have to remember to click on the bookmark whenever I want to see if something new has happened.

Anyway, I found a free plugin for Outlook called RSS Popper. It looks like it has been around since 2004 so I am sure this isn’t news to many of you Geek’s out there. But it was for me and I was happy to find it. :)

I just installed it and am hoping that it works out for me. I don’t understand why Microsoft hasn’t built this functionality directly into Outlook yet (although I hear it is native in 2007).

I know there is a service called NewsGator, but I figure why not try something free first.

Anyway, if you haven’t tried this yet you might want to check it out.

Any Geeks out there have any better solutions?
