While browsing Digg.com, I’ve clicked on a few interesting stories on the front page that piqued my interest. Clicking only gave me this result,

WordPress

Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at db97b.pair.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

The more stories i clicked, the more error messages I got. Is this because Wordpress cant take a digg hit? Or because of shitty web hosting?

I’ve gotten dugg a few times, my site only went down once. Using the wp-cache plugin can certainly help. Deactivating and uninstalling unessential plugins can also help. Drupal is also known to be a faster and more efficient CMS.
