I love cell phones. I find that I am getting a new one every 6 months or so. I currently have an AT&T (the new Cingular, or whatever they are calling themselves) 6525. It is a really cool device and I love that I can send emails, browse the web, etc from it.
One thing that has always bugged me about these “mobile devices” is that they really aren’t very good for the fun stuff that Geeks like to do on the web; things like browse streaming media like uTube or Google Video.
Today I found a new site, Avot Media that has a cool new product called Avot mV that you are going to love. I have been searching around on many different cell phone forums to find a mod for my phone that would allow me an easy way to surf and browse online media sites from my phone. There are a number of different solutions, but none were really that elegant. I mean, I basically want something that will let me organize, search and view videos quickly and easily like I can on my desktop.
Avot mV is the best solution for this that I have come across and best of all? It’s free! I couldn’t tell if this software will always be free because they are still in beta period. From what I am reading on the FAQ page it appears that it will continue to be free in the future.
One of my pet peeves with software for mobile devices is that the installation programs are always screwed up and never seem to work correctly. I hate when I download or purchase some new software for my mobile device and then have to spend a few days sending emails with the developer (if they actually answer) to get the thing to work only to realize that they software isn’t half as good as they claimed!
This was a simple install. Just point your mobile browser to the Avot Mobile Site and select the type of phone that you have. They currently support and device with Windows Mobile 5 or higher.
Ok, let me just tell you, I love this product. It is actually easy to use and the video that I got through my 3G connection as well as my WiFi connection really impressed me. I was surprised at how smooth the video came across and the quality that I received. Most other solutions that I have tried for this simply do not cut it in this category.

1My brother lives in the US and he owns the exact same phone. I will send him this article just in case he would like something like this. Thanks for the great review too. I’m so amazed at how much you wrote.
