I was reading this article over at coolsciencefacts.com that stated that when 2 pieces of metal touch in space, they become permanently stuck together. Supposedly this is due to the fact that there is no oxidation in space, so there is no layer to protect the metal.

When i read this, i immediately thought about construction and manufacturing in space. Is it actually easier to construct something in space, than on earth? Would it be easier to manufacture metallic goods in a vaccum, than in a shop?

So my guess is that bolts & screws arent needed in space.
