No, it doesn’t. Seriously.

Arstechnica has an article that talks about studies that show how Racing video games promote riskier driving. Well, I will tell you that with a sane person, this is not true.

1. Its a fucking video game!
Nobody in their right mind would be that stupid and lose their car, or their life.

2. Most kids or young adults who play racing games don’t even own a car. They are either too young to drive, or simply cant afford one.

3. My car is not that F1-Formula race car I play with. Even if they wanted to go from 0-60 in 1 second, their little Honda just cant do it. Its like saying Apache attack helicopter games promotes bad Apache attack helicopter piloting.

4. Asking kids questions is not a damn scientific study!
At least when it comes to games it isn’t. Asking if a kid likes to drive fast, or race is like asking a kid if he scored with his date last night. Of course hes going to say yes. Its a definite outcome.

5. Almost any kid that does have an accident, will at some point have played some sort of racing video game.

The stats are skewed and the studies are wrong.
First with the violence, now with racing? Whats next? Rise in house fires linked to The Sims?
