Seems Google opposes Australia’s laws when it comes to search engine caching. Australia wants to pass a law that will give permission to copyright owners to use search engines for caching whatever it is they hold copyright to.

Google says that Australia will be thrown back to a pre-net era if they go ahead and pass this law. Hell It’s Google, I’d belive them if they told me Fox News is fair and balanced.

This comes off as so fucking counter productive for Australia. This is what a search engine does, it caches content on the internet. Don’t want to have your stuff posted on the tubes? Take it off the damn internet! Don’t want Google’s spider all of your junk, get a fucking robots.txt file. Its easy to do, do it.

No, of course not. Thats not good enough for them Aussies. They want to sue, and by god they will sue!
