So, as I write this, on Tuesday, June 26th 2007, the Iphone is about 4 days away. There has been so much hype and hysteria I dont know what to think.

So, if you’re planning to get one, here are a few facts about the Iphone you should be aware of.

Apple Iphone

There are 3 different plans available.

  • $59.99 for 450 minutes.
  • $79.99 for 900 minutes.
  • $99.99 for 1,350 minutes.

To cancel your service, it will cost you $175. Now, this seems kind of low to me. I’ve seen other carriers charge over $250 and that includes a swift kick to the balls.

You will be able to activate your Iphone through Itunes. Yes, thats right. That means no waiting at the store for that weird guy to activate your phone and takes 30min longer because its his first day and he doesn’t quite know what hes doing. So, the most important question, how much does this damn thing cost. Well, its not cheap.

  • The 8GB model will cost $599 with 2 year contract
  • The 4GB model will only cost $499 with 2 year contract ($100 cheaper or “less expensive”)

Keep in mind that these prices are with 2 years of Cingular service. That means monthly bills with a carrier you might not even like. I personally, will not be buying an Iphone for 2 main reasons. Cingular is shit and $500 is way too much money for a device that fits in the palm of my hand. So, will you be getting one?
