Media Defender’s emails about their attempt to curve and saturate the bittorrent scene with fakes were leaked. Many of the emails show to the detail on how Media Defender attempts to flood the scene with fakes in order to stop and or catch users in the act.
A post was made on Mininova’s blog on how the emails depict just how Mininova is a ‘hard nut to crack’. This pretty much verifies what many have thought. Fakes are not just some kid trying to spoil a pirates free copy, but those fakes are actually decoys put there by a company to sue you.
Unfortunately for Media Defender, their source code for the software they use to publish these fakes was also leaked. Holy shit do they need a plumber.
