Introducing the Macbook Air.  Are you impressed?  I’m not.  I’ll explain why I’m not, and how I came to that conclusion.  Using my logic and reasoning I want you to ask yourself if you are impressed with the device.  The Macbook Air is sleek and thin, yes.  It’s new and “innovative”, yes.  Will I buy one? No.

I’ve come to my sound conclusion that I don’t want one using the following logic.  First, in a given day, do the tasks I perform require I have a new laptop, or a Macbook Air for that matter?  I decide I need a newe machine for mobile computing, would the Macbook Air be feasible for me?  Can I afford to spend the $1700 for the machine?  That’s the simplest answer, NO!  As for my uses, which I commonly tell people, if you think about it you only use your computer for 3 or 4 applications.  None of the applications I use regularly would require me to have a Macbook Air.  I don’t even need a new laptop, my current one is just fine.  Ok, if I decide I want a new laptop will the Macbook Air work for me?  Well lets see, I regularly use my laptop for about 8 hours at a time while I’m at school each day.  The Macbook Air… no replaceable battery.  No go for me.  After about 4 hours, I switch out batteries and continue on my way.  The Macbook Air wouldn’t even allow that to be a solution.

Before you jump on this Mac band wagon, I have to ask… Do you really need to be on it?  And for the record, I’m not Mac-hating.  I’m simply saying the Macbook Air isn’t for me.
