I’ve always thought that a dog drinks water by wetting its tongue and then slowly drinking the water that sticks to its tongue. The video here shows something different. In slow motion you can see the dog’s tongue splash the water up, then the dog swoops in and “grabs” it.

1Really neat! I’m pulling an “all nighter” preping for a programmer interview at 9am. I was watching my dog drink @ 3:30am and wondering the same question. After a quick google i found my answer

2the dogs tongue curls backwards and makes a bowl to put the water in its mouth, it doesnt splash the water
