According to a story that was posted on CNNMoney a Hong Kong Telecom company is providing FTTH service at amazing prices.

After the breakthrough launch of bb1000 in 2004, HKBN is again delivering the future today. Effective immediately, HKBN will offer residential FTTH broadband services ranging from 100Mbps to 1Gbps, namely, FiberHome100, FiberHome200 and FiberHome1000, at US$48.5, US$88.2 and US$215.4 respectively.

I have FTTH service here in the states and that kind of bandwidth is available but definately cost prohibitive. I am able to get up to 20Mbps service but they charge over $300 for it! So I am stuck with 5Mbps for about the same price as I could get 100Mbps in Hong Kong.

Can you imaging what websurfing and gaming would be like at those speeds?

Ahhhhh…. how nice it would be to be Hong Kong Geek…
