The kid who first hacked the DVD copy protection has done it again. He has managed to unlock the IPod so it will be able to play purchased music from other sites besides the ITunes store. Its amazing Apple managed to sell so many IPods with this type of block in place, but I guess It was only a matter of time.
The kid who broke the encryption is a 22-year old Norway native who now lives in San Fransisco. The hack is going to be liscenced to other companies who wish to distribute music for the IPod. I can already see online music prices to drop like a rock once this code gets out there.
