A couple of weeks ago I wrote that Microsoft was planning to release downloadable games, music and content through their Xbox Live platform. Well it didn’t take long before someone else would follow suit. According to Nintencast.com, they have confirmed that similiar online downloads will soon be available for the Wii.
Hello,
Thank you for writing us.
Downloadable content for the Wii is something we are working very hard on getting in place for the new year. There is no definite timetable in place but we are hoping it will be soon.

Red Octane Customer Support.
Red Octane has confirmed that they are working on downloadable content for the hugely popular Guitar Hero III. The speculation is that this service would allow you to obviously download new games as well as arenas and characters.
I do think this is good news, however, I a lot of these companies are going to have a ways to go to compete with Microsoft and the XBox 360. It does however seem like online downloadable content is the way that all of these game companies are going and that only means good news to us.
