A blog post was made over at the googleblog which seriously got on my nerves. Apperantely Google doesn’t want you to use the term “Google” or “googled” unless you’re describing, or referencing their search engine directly.
This is just sad and very jerk-like of google to do this. Startups would kill for their trademark to be used far and wide, but once they get big, they become jerks and take extra steps to protect their “Trademark”. I dont see Kleenex, Xerox, or Coca-Cola crying about their trademark.
Welcome to the 21st century “Google”. Get used to it. For now tho, i think im going to go google that video on yahoo and youtube it on myspace. Oh, and do me a favor “Google”, stop telling me what i can and cant say!

1I think it was in fun spirit, and nothing official about it.

2Hey, thanks for the response. I might of been in jest, but i think most of the companies that finally make it big make a big deal about their trademarks. Hopefully, Google was just being funny, but they probably weren’t.
Which makes me sad, very sad
