Firefox 2.0 is almost ready to be digitally shipped. Techcrunch has an article and mentions that while there are few new features bundled with 2.0, it features a very slick new interface. Extensions can also be a problem since updating to 2.0 will more than likely break the compatibility.
The supposed “memory leak” hasn’t been addressed. I personally have not encountered this leak since I’ve been using firefox.
