If it is, it is certainly dangerous. Don't forget about the "time clones" theory. When you go back in time, you create and enter an alternate universe, and everything you do from then on only affects this alternate universe. You can never go back. If we are in the "original" universe, time travelers won't talk to us, they will talk to our clones in the other universe. There are other theories that would explain why we haven't discovered time travel, or why time travelers haven't discovered us.
