I’m browsing the internet trying to find out how much a PageRank 3 site sells for (stopgeek.com is PR3, but dont worry im not selling :] ) and I find a lot of people asking if blogging for money is worth the invested time. In my opnion, this is looking at blogging the wrong way. A blog, or ‘web log’ is nothing more than a digital notebook. There are some blogs that are diaries, others are informational resources, while others are just news on a certain niche.

Blogs are something someone does because they enjoy it. To blog for money is like skipping work to walk for pennies. If you want to make huge amounts of cash blogging, then you will more than likley fail to attract readers, visitors, and probably even give up on the whole project.

I have a few ads on here. They don’t do very well ( i suck at optimizing ), but they help pay for the hosting costs. Google also frowns on ‘made for adsense’ type of sites. My point is that blogging is a great way to spend your time on a computer. It should be something you enjoy to do, and not for monetary purposes. Theres nothing wrong with loving to blog and throwing up some ads to make some extra income. But blogging specifically for money is just not worth it.
